My Jail Time aka And now for the rest of the story aka The conclusion aka THE END!

You need to come and get me RIGHT NOW!”
“Okay Deb, where are you?”
I told him that I was going to give the phone to the officer so he could give him directions on how to get to the police station.

I crawled back up on my bunk and waited for my boyfriend to come.

It took less time than I thought before I heard footsteps coming down the hallway again. The metal door creak opened and there stood my boyfriend. He walked over to my bunk and as serious as a heart attack, he said:

“Well Deb….. they posted your bail at $30.00 - OR - one “YES" answer. He then pulled a ring box from his pocket and opened it up to present my diamond engagement ring to me!! And since I only had 23 cents in my wallet, I said YES!!!

Obviously he had arranged the whole thing. He was parked down the street when the officer came to my door. When I got to the police station, he was taken upstairs and watched me get frisked over a surveillance video camera. When I told the officer what my boyfriends phone number was, he just dialed the number of the office upstairs where my now “fiancée” was. He was holding the key to my cell in his hot little hands when I had called him to let him know that I was in jail.

IS THAT A GREAT ENGAGEMENT STORY OR WHAT?

My hubby is SO DANG FUN! We have been married almost 29 years and still going strong. He reminds me of David in the movie “Legacy” when he tells Eliza that he doesn’t have much to offer her but his two hands and that he promises to make her laugh everyday. My hubby makes me laugh everyday! We have so much fun together!

So in this month of November where we should remember what we are thankful for, I am extremely grateful for my husband.

P.S. I have gotten GREAT enjoyment out of the "Jerk", "Creep" and "Hope you dumped the dude" comments! So has hubby. No Apologies Needed!!

Oh my gosh! I feel stupid about my comment the day before saying "I hope you don't tell me you married this guy" or something to that effect! Ha. This was BEAUTIFUL! What an absolutely great story to share with your family and friends. Now THAT is what I call creativity! Your husband deserves an award! Oh, he got it...YOU! Lol. BTW, thanks for your beautiful comments on my post today. You're great. Yak at ya later. Hugs.

Deb, this is the RADDEST story ever! I always knew that was how you guys got engaged, but now I know the details of how it all went down! So awesome! Thanks for your sweet comments on the blog- we seriously don't know where Layna came from- she is WAY cuter than both of us! LOL

You have got to be joking. That is just insane. I would never had thought this was how it was going to end. Glad he's a keeper though. I would have seriously considered a straight jacket for him. :) That really is beyond anything I have ever heard of. That is going way past showing his love for you. I hope he has given you that much fun for the last 29 years. I would seriously watch my back though ;)

I love it! He has the greatest creativity. But I'd love to know if you ever did any thing along the same lines of "tricking" to get back at him?
Even if you did that was a great story and thank you for sharing it! (I'm gonna make my hubby read it! lol!)

HE is so freaking lucky he proposed to you that night! and had planned it out!! JOHNNY CARSON?? I mean I watched me some johnny too!! LOL, poor guy after I said, yes, examined the diamond I would have punched the crap out of his arm for making me cry!!

He was so lucky you chose to call HIM and not your DAD!!! What if you called your dad first, what the heck would have happened????

I would have been so DANG MAD! I would've withheld my answer -for sure.

I knew where this was going, but I didn't think he'd make you actually sit in a jail cell!!

Wow! That is creative! I probably would've slugged him, and sulked a little before I said yes.
I feel kind of dumb for calling him a loser. sorry. I'm sure you got a kick out of all the comments after the last post.

I SOOO didn't see THAT coming! Can I surmise from this story that he's played a lot of other big pranks over the years you've been together!?

Well, it's made for a great story and that's worth something right there. I would have expired on the spot!

May you enjoy many, many more years together.

Now THAT's what I call an engagement story. WOW! Sounds like you knew it was him from pretty early on. I guess "early on" was all there was! How long had you known each other before you got engaged?

This was such a fun story!

I've been on blog break for a few days, and I just had to look for this post tonight now that I'm back to blogging!

You married the most insane, radical, awesome, fun dude! OMGosh! I'm glad I didn't say anything rude about your boyfriend in previous comments (I think?) What he did to propose was COOLNESS to the max! No wonder you're letting him hang around for all these years.

That was the funnest blog series I've read in forever:-) You are awesome.

You totally caught me off-guard with the end to this story! I'm with Mother Goose... I would have given his upper arm a good punch or two for making me cry if I would have been in your shoes.

Hugs,
Cindy
