Squee Dunks and Punky Doo?

When my knight in shining armor and I were first married, we lived in a four plex that had two other young couples. It was great fun. We would get together after work and eat dinner together and play games. It really was a great situation.

One of the couples that were also newly married called each other Squee Dunks and Punky Doo. My hubby and I couldn't believe it. How mushy, how gushy, how disgusting could you get?

As a joke, we started calling each other those names. In secret of course, never in front of the other couple.
When we did it, it was because we were being SARCASTIC, we did it because we were MAKING FUN OF THE OTHER COUPLE!

We would never REALLY call each other a pukey name like that!

Well that was 28 years ago, and IT STUCK and

WE STILL CALL EACH

OTHER THOSE NAMES!!!

I don't even think about it now and sometimes I will slip
and say "Punkie Doo" IN PUBLIC!!

Ewwwww!!

I'm sure when people hear that, that they think we are DISGUSTING!!!

So what pet name do you call your wife/husband? Do you have an itty, bitty, wittle POOPSIE??

Let's hear it!

That is SO funny! We just do the normal honey, sweetie, sweetheart, etc. I gave you an award over at the farm...

we don't. He used to call me baby or babe but my dad ridiculed him so much in our courting days that it just doesn't. My parents never had pet names so I guess it is weird. Sometimes, he will say sweetie. No, hmmm...

Ok, so if I ever hear squee dunks I know to be lookin' for you!

I call my husband lots of names and these may sound funny but when I am saying them they just seem to flow...Poopy Mongers, Baby Cakes, Stud Muffin, Utta Butta...I just never call him "late to dinner." :)

I don't call him these names in front of people but do at home~ The kids love it.

He calls me "Meebs"~♥

We're so boring! Just honey. I'm always surprised when he calls me by my given name though. He NEVER calls me Alyson. It's always honey. I use both his given name and honey.

Nothing I could say could top that mushy mush. I call my husband Edweird. I know that is so sad, but it is love talk. I might have to come up with something a little more exciting now.

You're so funny. Love it.

I call Todd Honey Bunny. I also just call him 'husband'. "Husband - did you feed the cats?" We aren't very clever in our house I'm afraid!

I call Craig, "Craigifer" and I've been called Adelify and Adelifer and if we're really in the mush mood it's ooey gooey icky sticky!! hehee that sounds so gross doesn't it?? And it's the baby talk that really makes it hilarious. When we first got engaged he used to say "Dude, I'm gettin a Dell!" :)

In our household after we got married I'd say "hi Honey" and my husband would reply "hi bunny". That has stuck more than I knew. Like someone else said he hardly uses my first name...I'm "Bunny" he's my Honey! Kind of lame, but it's ours, right :)

That's so funny! My hubby and I have NEVER been a mushy, sappy, couple like that even when we were dating. But a funny story, when we were dating, we were in the same singles ward, and he taught the Gospel Doctrine class, and he asked if someone would volunteer to say the prayer, and I said "i will, babe." I was really embarrassed, because not very many people knew we were dating and the "babe" just kind of slipped out.

oh, and when i was reading your comment on my last post as it said...
"when my son gets home from his mission...."
we'll have to arrange a date,
instead of

silly me!
you're missionary is very handsome.

So funny. It is amazing what sticks! I call Jim a 1000 different names. He does not say my name. At all. I can count on one hand the number of times he has said my name out loud. It makes me sad, but it is who he is and I have come to accept this part of him.

I am still laughing at the names you picked! So Funny. m

That's hilarious! Every once in a while I call my husband a "stud muffin". He hates it, but like you, it started out in gest and went from there. Hugs to you. You're awesome.

LOL! I think pukey names are cute! :-) So sweet. Affection can be mushy.

My hubby and I call each other Honey Buns, honey bunny, baby cakes, chicker babe, Rethko and Rethka, and all sort of other silly names. Privately. But sometimes we slip.

We just call each other "honey" so often, that it is one of the words our bird says...
